Committed to Largo
Community Leader
Accomplished Professional and Business Leader
Since moving to Largo in 2010, Mike has volunteered his time to making Largo a great city.  As a member of the Planning Board, he has played an important role in helping to shape development within our city for both businesses and neighborhoods.  His commitment and service to the Planning Board culminated in his appointment as Board Chair in 2019. Mike has also been a member of committees to help develop Largo's affordable housing strategies, a vital need for our city.
Mike's professional career has been devoted to developing and implementing programs assisting abused and neglected children as well as family services focused on addressing mental health, substance abuse and domestic violence.  His efforts have led to more than 4,000 children finding adoptive families and many more children who have safely been able to remain with their family.  A strong advocate for local solutions to local challenges, Mike was a leader in Florida's innovative model of moving child protection services from a state managed system to local non-profits.  This model impowers local communities to best serve children and families rather than a one size fits all statewide model.
As Chief Executive Officer of Camelot Community Care, a Largo based Human Service organization with more than 1,000 employees, Mike understands the importance of a city government that effectively partners with the business community. In 2021, Mike led Camelot Community Care's efforts to purchase an under performing commercial office space for the company headquarters as well as bringing new businesses into Largo into the other vacant office spaces in the building.
